JNOMICS, Billboard and GOOD Fridays

Billboard just published an article commenting on the significance of West’s GOOD Friday releases for the music business.  Not surprisingly, other major artists (Swizz Beatz, Timbaland, Rza) are looking to copy West’s approach, yet the approach does not guarantee success, as Billboard and label executives note.  The material must be top quality, and the artist must maintain the support of their label in so doing.  Moreover, as the article critically points out, what works for one artist will not guarantee success for others.
