Infographic Answers Question About Smart People Making More Money

We all know, at least vaguely, that a better education leads to better prospects in life. But is that really true? A superb map created by GOOD shows that it is — but thanks to the ingenuity of the map design, it also manages to reveal a good deal more about the links between education and money. More than anything else, coming across these types of graphics, as is becoming quite common, gets me excited about the potential for the incessant data collection the Net has catalyzed.  Most of the information for this piece was culled from census data,  and is a strong illustration (no pun intended) of what the open access efforts of the Obama Administration have achieved (check out data[dot]gov if you haven’t already).  This is important work, and from what I can see, creates new business and economic within the U.S.. It helps us to better understand ourselves and our country. Very cool stuff.  Hope you dig and start to keep an eye out for these types of projects, if you haven’t already.  They’re everywhere once you start looking.
